Stay at Home Mom Truths

So I have officially been a stay at home mom for a little over three months now. And I have had lots of people ask me how I am liking it. I was thinking about it a bit today and here are some things that I have discovered so far:
  • No one really needs to shower everyday, you only start to really stink on day 3 or 4
  • A dinner consisting of peanut butter crackers and a Vitamin Water is a fairly balanced meal
  • By the time the clean clothes get put away, it is time to do more laundry
  • Yoga pants and long sleeve t-shirts are acceptable any time of day or night
  • The crock pot was sent from God
  • Getting out of the house each and every day is crucial to survival
  • Having a schedule means looking forward to naptime
All that said, I really am loving it. I am so appreciative to my wonderful husband for working so hard and allowing me the opprotunity to spend this time with our son. I wish that I could say that I keep the house spotless, that there is dinner on the table every night when he walks in the door, and that I am always in a good mood, but sadly that isn't the case. But what is true, is that we have a happy baby boy that I take care of to the best of my ability everyday, no one has starved yet, the house hasn't burned down, and after a good night of sleep(or a 30 minute cat nap) I am usually a pretty happy person. And Jacob seems to be pretty happy too.
